Vietnam is a new and rapidly developing travel destination. Many say Vietnam is what Thailand used to be like before it was “discovered”. Having traveled extensively in both places, we would agree. This is a great time to see a fabulous country that is defined by war yet holds absolutely no bitterness toward Americans. Just over a decade ago, Vietnam emerged from “the dark years” under dire economic conditions. Embracing free markets has drastically re-shaped the country since the early nineties.

Our travels in Vietnam have shown us a fine, honorable, cooperative culture, one that is eager to put the past behind it as they face the ongoing job of rebuilding a war-torn past. Even though they call it “The American War”, the Vietnamese hold no bitterness toward Americans. Actually, Vietnam seems to be one of the few places left in the world where the locals LOVE Americans! They are entrepreneurs at heart and they have many questions about our “land of opportunity”. They can also commiserate with our recent economic contraction as theirs began just before ours….
